It’s been a little while since our last foundation update, and we wanted to take a moment to reconnect with our incredible BeLikeCJ family, supporters, sponsors, volunteers, athletes, coaches, and community partners.
First and foremost… THANK YOU.
Thank you for continuing to believe in the mission of the BeLikeCJ Foundation and for helping us keep CJ’s light shining in communities everywhere.
At BeLikeCJ, our mission is bigger than sports. We are committed to inspiring young people to lead with compassion, character, humility, teamwork, and purpose — just like CJ did every single day.
Over the past few months, we’ve witnessed unforgettable moments, powerful partnerships, and life-changing opportunities that continue to remind us that CJ’s legacy is truly alive and moving forward.

⚾ LSU Baseball BeLikeCJ Game — April 28, 2026
One of the most emotional and unforgettable moments this spring was the LSU Baseball BeLikeCJ Game in Baton Rouge.
LSU honored CJ in such a meaningful way — celebrating his heart, leadership, kindness, and the impact he continues to make on others.
This moment was bigger than baseball.
It was about:đź’ś Legacyđź’ś Purposeđź’ś Loveđź’ś Inspiring the next generation
Fans, athletes, families, and supporters gathered together to celebrate what it truly means to “Be Like CJ” — leading with heart and being the ultimate teammate.
And yes… in a moment full of emotion and gratitude, CJ’s mom, former WNBA All-Star Marie Ferdinand-Harris, had the honor of throwing out the first pitch. 💜💛
Moments like these continue to remind us that CJ’s story is still touching lives in ways we could have never imagined.
🏀 Thank You WNBA Player Natasha “Tasha” Mack — March 12, 2026
We also want to give a HUGE thank you and congratulations to Phoenix Mercury WNBA player Natasha “Tasha” Mack for choosing the BeLikeCJ Foundation as her charity of choice this season.
Tasha represents excellence both on and off the court. Her heart for people, commitment to giving back, and leadership through sports reflect everything CJ stood for.
CJ believed in encouraging others, uplifting teammates, and leading with love — and Tasha embodies that spirit every time she steps on the floor.
We are incredibly grateful for her support and proud to cheer her on every step of the way. đź’™
🚶🏾‍♂️💜 BeLikeCJ Walk of Love: Sports Edition — May 9, 2026
On May 9th, we proudly hosted our BeLikeCJ Walk of Love: Sports Edition — an event created to inspire student-athletes to grow not only as competitors, but as people.
This event was about much more than sports.
It was about:✨ Character✨ Leadership✨ Sportsmanship✨ Compassion✨ Respect✨ Purpose
We were honored to provide FREE BeLikeCJ shirts for all participants, along with meals and support from Chick-fil-A and Chicken Express for our students.
Throughout the event, athletes were encouraged to embrace the values CJ demonstrated daily:
âś” Being the ultimate teammateâś” Demonstrating great sportsmanshipâś” Maintaining a positive attitudeâś” Displaying positive body languageâś” Being coachable and willing to learnâś” Practicing respect and compassionâś” Remaining humble in both victory and defeat
The Walk of Love served as a powerful reminder that the greatest legacy an athlete can leave is not simply wins, trophies, or statistics — but how they treat people.
Watching students come together in unity, encouragement, and love was a beautiful reflection of CJ’s spirit and the mission of the BeLikeCJ Foundation.
🔥 Coming Up Next: 5th Annual BeLikeCJ Memorial Tournament — June 6–7, 2026
We are beyond excited for our 5th Annual BeLikeCJ Tournament — and this year is shaping up to be our biggest one yet!
🏀 OVER 40+ teams are already registered and ready to compete, connect, and celebrate CJ’s legacy together.
But this tournament is about more than basketball.
It’s about community. It’s about mentorship. It’s about empowering young people. It’s about teaching athletes how to become the ultimate teammate both on and off the court.
Throughout the weekend, we will have:
